It is our hope that Lily’s adventures will open a dialogue between children and their families, teachers, and friends. We wish to create environments conducive to the honest exploration of feelings; a place where true learning can occur. With this healthy practice in place, people of all ages can grow emotionally strong, find compassion for others’ needs, and further their own spiritual evolution.
Lily’s story speaks to those of us that have felt out of place, at odds with our environment, alienated, neglected, abused or otherwise threatened at one or more stages in our lives. Every day, around the world, children fall through the cracks of the familial and educational systems. We encourage and support any means by which this trend might be arrested and/or reversed.
Lily shows us her way. She stumbles and falls through an awkward existence. But she invariably gets back up only to fall again. Along the way, she discovers that her alienation is largely self-imposed and that her glaring individuality and her perceived disability are things not to be hidden but embraced and cultivated.
Through our heroine, we intend to reach out to families and in particular to children, with a clear message: “Embrace your emotional self.” It is our experience that true joy and peace in life are more attainable with a fundamental understanding of emotion.
As human beings, we have the capacity to experience emotions. The more we recognize and acknowledge our emotions, the more fully we will be able to experience life. We find some of largest obstacles to emotional freedom to be a lack of self-permission as well as a judgemental attitude toward specific emotions. We want children to hear “Yes, you are allowed to feel. You will not be judged for feeling.”
“You…have the power to make this world free and beautiful, to make this life a wonderful adventure!”Charlie Chaplin
Additionally, we believe that a substantial share of emotional pain and suffering in one’s life can be traced back to an inability to recognize and effectively process emotions. Unacknowledged, unexpressed, and reactively expressed emotion can cause extensive damage to the individual. This, in turn, damages the communities and societies in which they exist.
It is not uncommon for a child to feel self-conscious and insecure, which results in them being withdrawn and/or depressed. When a child feels out of place and attempts to fit in in an unauthentic way, they lose their own individuality and identity. Not only is it stressful for the child, but the world also suffers the loss of their individual perspective, their contributions, their “light”.
Trials and obstacles are a part of life and the growing process. We find that when a child is able recognize their feelings, they can address challenging issues directly and honestly. Through right action, children learn to overcome these trials with more grace and are more likely to retain the wisdom from such an experience.
“Don’t let a personal challenge be an obstacle, rather let it become your bridge.” Andrew Tucker
With a small shift in perspective, a misfortune can be seen not as tragedy, but as an opportunity, a chance to prove ourself and improve our self. Often, the simple act of discussing a problem will lessen the emotional charge it carries and allow a shift to happen. Armed with the ability to resolve personal issues, we have seen children grow stronger, wiser, and more courageous. Not only are they better for it, but as go our children, so goes the world.
Ultimately, children will come away from Lily with a feeling of self worth and individual value that is specific to them. Lily means the world to us and our aspiration is that she will mean something to the world. On behalf of the Leapin’ Lily team, welcome to her world. Welcome to ours.

- Team Lily ×To create and develop Leapin’ Lily as an icon of emotional connection and honest expression of feelings as a source of wisdom and transformation. Through her story, we examine the nature of thought and emotion, exploring their influence on our lives, and using them as a gateway to understanding and directing our growth.
We aspire to further the evolution of human consciousness and to enable individuals to view themselves as part of a greater oneness. As awareness increases, people shall learn to use feeling and thought consciously in order to grow and reach their highest potential - physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually.
